In this exercise, three equal-sized areas are created. In two areas, a 3v1 rondo is played where three players keep the ball away from one pressing player. In the third area, players pass freely, for example with one touch. When the pressing player ('rondo player') wins the ball, the player who lost the ball becomes the new pressing player, but they must run to a new group - the group that currently doesn't have a pressing player.
If the pressing player has to stay in the middle trying to win the ball for an extended period, a rule can be agreed upon that, for example, after ten successful passes, the pressing player changes.
Quality factors
Players should actively position themselves to be available for passes and move to support the player with the ball.
Body position should be open so the next passing direction can be quickly chosen.
The pressing player must press actively and direct the possession towards more difficult directions.
Awareness of when the pressing player comes to press in another group.
