Description
6 players (overload team) position themselves outside the playing area. 3 players (underload team) position themselves inside the playing area. One player from the overload team starts in the middle. The overload team aims to keep possession of the ball while the underload team tries to win the ball back. Players on the outside are not allowed to enter the area. When the player in the middle passes the ball outside, a new player moves into the central area to replace them. The team scores a goal after making ten consecutive passes to their own players. If the underload team wins the ball, they try to keep possession as long as possible, turning the situation into a 3v1 keep-away. Play for example in 3-5 minute periods, after which roles are switched.
Quality factors
Overload team: Players must move constantly and offer playable options. Underload team: The nearest player presses while others cover passing lanes.
Key questions
How can you move so that you always offer a passing option? How can you press together effectively so that the opponent cannot find an easy passing opportunity?
