Description

Use about three quarters of a futsal court. Set up a goal at each end with a goalkeeper in each goal. One defender waits in each half. Two attackers start from opposite sidelines at the halfway line. In addition, two attackers wait behind each goal.

The goalkeeper throws the ball to one of the attackers on the halfway line. The receiver chooses the direction of attack. The other attacker on the halfway line joins the attack, and the pair try to score against one defender. The defender in the other half stays in their own half. The attack ends with a shot, a turnover (the defender winning the ball), or the ball going out of play.

Rotation: the attackers go behind the goal they attacked. The pair that was waiting there come to the sidelines at the halfway line. The goalkeepers start alternately. Change the defenders every few attacks and give them a recovery break.

In the second phase of the drill, the first 2v1 attack is immediately followed by a 3v1 in the opposite direction. The new pair coming from behind the goal and the player who has just defended attack against the defender in the other half. After this, the original two defenders move to the sidelines at the halfway line to become attackers. The new pair splits up to become defenders, one in each half. The next round starts again from a 2v1 situation.

Key questions
When should the player on the ball keep going themselves and when should they pass? How does the attacker without the ball make the defender's decision more difficult?
