Description

Mark out an area slightly longer than half a court and set up a goal at each end. Each team has four outfield players and a goalkeeper. The attacking team's goalkeeper steps up to join the build-up play. This way, the attackers play with five against four defending outfield players. The opposing goalkeeper stays in their goal.

The attack starts from the goalkeeper who has stepped up. The attackers circulate the ball and look for the numerical superiority on the wing or through the middle. They may finish when a shooting opportunity opens up. When they win the ball, the defenders may immediately try to score on the other goal, which has been left empty. Play continues after turnovers. When the ball goes out of play or a goal is scored, the same attacking team starts a new attempt from the flying goalkeeper.

For example, play rounds of a couple of minutes and then switch the attacking team. In the second phase of the drill, replace the attacking goalkeeper with a fifth outfield player. The attacking team's own goal is left empty.
