Description

Play to one net, with a goaltender in net. Two forwards and one defenseman start at the faceoff dot, while the second defenseman waits at the blue line. The coach is positioned behind the net at the end boards with pucks.

The coach passes the puck into the corner. The forward and defenseman skate for the puck. The forward wins the puck, carries it out of the corner, and passes to the supporting forward, who shoots. The defenseman continuously battles to strip the puck. After a few seconds, the defenseman waiting at the blue line joins the play, turning it into a 2v2. Play continues until a goal is scored, the shot is blocked, or the defensemen win the puck.

Rotation: forwards and defensemen switch roles, and the next group of four begins.

In the second phase of the drill, the second defenseman joins the play as soon as the coach makes the pass, so the drill is played as 2v2 from the start.
