Description

Played in a half rink into one goal, with a goalkeeper in the net. Four positions: at the center line on the upper side, at the center line on the lower side, in the upper corner, and in the lower corner. The players at the center line and the player in the upper corner each have a ball. The player in the lower corner is the shooter.

The shooter starts from the lower corner moving upward, receives a pass from the player at the lower side of the center line, and takes the first shot. After that, he drops back further, receives a pass from the player at the upper side of the center line, and takes the second shot. Finally, he moves to the upper side, receives a pass from the upper corner, and takes the third shot. The goalkeeper repositions to a new corner after each shot.

Rotation: each player moves to the next position, from the lower corner to the lower side of the center line, from there to the upper side of the center line, from there to the upper corner, and from the upper corner to the lower corner. Sides are switched every few minutes so that both left- and right-handed shooters get to shoot from both sides.

In the second phase of the drill, the passers decide the passing order themselves, so the goalkeeper doesn't know where the next shot is coming from.

Coaching key points
