Description

The goals are moved closer to each other, for example about 20 meters apart. Each goal gets its own group, which lines up a few meters in front of the goal: one player on the upper post side, one on the lower post side, and a center player between them. The line for the left goal's group stands with balls on the lower post side, while the line for the right goal's group stands on the upper post side.

In each group, the first player in line plays a cross pass to the player on the opposite side, and the next player in line steps into the center position. The wing player passes to the center player, who returns the ball to the same wing player and then breaks diagonally to the other side. The wing player from the other group passes to the incoming runner, who takes a shot. Both groups perform this at the same time, so the runners meet in the middle.

Rotation: the runner takes the spot of the wing player who passed to him, and that wing player joins the back of that group's line.

In the second phase of the drill, the groups compete against each other: whichever group scores more goals within a few minutes wins.

Coaching key points
Shooting off the move Passing into the runner's path Tempo: plenty of repetitions in a short time
Key questions
When should the runner start moving so that the pass meets him in stride? Where on the goal should the shot be aimed when approaching at an angle?
