Continuous End-to-End 2v1
© CoachTruly.com- Description
Full rink, goalies in both goals. Reds form a line on each side of the goal behind the end line at the left end, and Blues form lines the same way at the right end. The lines nearer the top boards have the balls. One Blue defender starts from the center circle.
One player from each Red line starts, the one from the top line carrying the ball. Reds attack the right goal 2v1 against the Blue defender. When the attack ends, one of the Reds stays in the middle as the next defender and the other goes to the Red line. The Blue defender goes to the Blue line. Then two players start from the Blue lines and attack the left goal 2v1 against the Red defender. Play continues alternating like this.
In the second phase of the drill, the old defender does not go to the line but instead back-checks, quickly turning the 2v1 into a 2v2.

- Key questions
- Where do you carry the ball to force the defender to commit? What do you do immediately when your own attack ends and you become the defender?
