Color Passes

floorball drill: Color Passes

Description

Set up a small square using four cones of different colors. One player stands in the middle of the square, and the passer stands with the ball outside the square. The coach or passer calls out a color. The center player moves to the cone of that color, receives the pass, and passes it straight back. The player then returns to the center and waits for the next color call.

The sides of the square are a few meters long. The drill period lasts about a minute, for example, then the center player and the passer switch places.

In the second phase of the drill, the passer doesn't call out the color but instead shows it with the stick, so the center player must keep their eyes on the passer the whole time.

Coaching key points
Movement into the reception Receiving and passing with one touch Head up during movement
Key questions
Why is the reception easier to execute when you move toward the ball? Why is it better to watch the passer rather than the ball while moving?
