Ball to the Shooting Spot
© CoachTruly.com- Description
Played in a half rink into one goal, with a goalkeeper in the net. Four spots: the top corner with the ball, the center line on the upper side, the center line on the lower side, and the bottom corner.
The player in the top corner passes to the player at the upper side of the center line. This player passes along the center line to the player on the lower side, who passes along the bottom boards to the bottom corner. Meanwhile, the player from the top corner moves to the shooting spot in front of the goal. The player in the bottom corner passes to him, and he shoots.
Rotation: everyone moves to the next spot in the direction the ball travels, from the top corner to the upper side of the center line, and from the bottom corner to the top corner. Switch sides every few minutes.
In the second phase of the drill, a defender comes in front of the goal to mark the shooter.
- Coaching key points
- Attack: moving to the shooting spot at the right moment Moving the ball quickly from one side to the other Shooting immediately off the pass
- Key questions
- When should the shooter start moving toward the shooting spot as the ball circulates? Why does quick ball movement from side to side make it harder for the goalkeeper?
