Description

Played in a half rink into one goal, with a goalkeeper in the goal. Four spots: at the center line on the bottom side with the ball, at the center line on the top side, in the bottom corner, and in the top corner.

The player at the center line on the bottom side passes along the boards to the bottom corner and moves to in front of the goal. The player in the bottom corner carries the ball behind the goal and passes from behind the goal to the top corner, then circles around the goal and comes to in front of the goal from the other side. The player in the top corner passes along the boards to the player at the center line on the top side, who passes in front of the goal to one of the two players. The receiver takes the shot.

Rotation: everyone moves to the next spot in the direction the ball travels. Switch sides every few minutes.

In the second phase of the drill, a defender comes to in front of the goal, who only has time to cover one of the two players.

Coaching key points
Attack: circulating the ball behind the goal Movement to in front of the goal as the ball circulates Passer's decision: pass to the more open player
Key questions
Why does circulating the ball behind the goal make defending more difficult? How do the two players in front of the goal share the space so that one defender can't cover both?
