Header challenge for the team. Divide players into two lines (or create a competition by dividing players into multiple groups), which are positioned facing each other.
The black player throws the ball underhand to the red player and moves to the back of their own line after the throw. The red player heads the ball to the next black player, etc. How many successful headers between the lines can be achieved?
Quality factors
Header position: Feet firmly on the ground, knees slightly bent, body under control.
Eyes on the ball: Follow the ball closely and time your header correctly.
Forehead contact: The header is executed with the center of the forehead, not the top or side of the head.
Body control: The power of the header comes from the entire body, not just the neck.
Direction: The ball is headed accurately to the next player, not too hard or too high.
Timing: The header contacts the ball on the upward phase, giving the player better control.
